Winter 2008

Dear Roosevelt Supporters:

The following is a summary of various RHS activities which took place in 2007.

Les Misérables – A Big Hit !
Congratulations to RHS Music and Drama teacher Cliff Gabor and all those who helped to make the performance of Les Misérables a great success. This was the 4th show that Cliff has directed and each one gets better. One alum said he enjoyed it more than on Broadway! The four day performance drew well over one thousand people! Before the May 25th show attending alumni had dinner at Marie’s Pizza restaurant and all seemed to have a great time.

Next year’s performance will be Beauty and the Beast. Alumni night will be May 2, 2008 beginning at 5:30pm. There will be refreshments & appetizers served in room 117. The show will begin at 7:00pm in the Alumni Hall. Tickets to this event are $20.00 per person and will be held at the door. There will be reserved seating for alumni. Please see the enclosed flyer to reserve your tickets.

Syd Lieberman, a wonderful evening!
A group of diehard Roosevelt alums braved a heavy downpour of rain on Friday night October 26, 2007 in order to see Syd Lieberman, storyteller perform. Syd, an RHS grad (June 1962) and an all-city (Football) halfback is a nationally-acclaimed storyteller. He spent 1½ hours telling humorous stories about Roosevelt and Albany Park and had the crowd roaring. Congratulations Syd!
